I decided to use the book Twilight because it is a new favorite book of mine. I just read it for the first time last month and I instantly fell in love with it. The only problem was that I really didn’t like the book cover at all. I was a pair of hands holding an apple. I felt that it didn’t go with the book at all. So, when I was deciding what I wanted to do for the cover I knew that I wanted to make it relate directly to the feel of the book.

The background of my cover was to represent the rainy weather that the town that the story takes place in always has. I really worked hard on the background. Luckily, one of my classmates sat down with me and taught me how to use the gradient tool and other tools in Photoshop to make the background.

The only other image that I have on my cover is that of a tree. It represents the forest in the book that plays a very large role. I got the image from the Internet, but I took it into Photoshop and changed a few things including the color.

This project was probably one of the most difficult projects I’ve ever had to do, but I truly feel that it was the most rewarding. Being able to see my work on a book was very exciting. It seemed like it was an actual book cover.
