Burning Touch Collage

This project really showed me a lot about myself. Once I began the process of cutting out images, I thought I knew exactly what I wanted to do. In doing this I really limited myself because I was not keeping an open mind. Thankfully, we had to create three separate ideas and it turned out that my classmates shot down the idea my heart was set on. This was very frustrating to me because I had just thrown the chosen image together but I had spent hours trying to perfect the image I wanted. Now I am so thankful for the help of my classmates, because without them, I would not have created such a successful piece.

The collage I have created is very plain and simple. I have created an actual place with my collage. The man is in his room looking at his poster on the wall. Although it is simple, I think that if anything else were added to it, it would be way too busy. The simplicity of the piece is what makes it successful. The background of the piece (meant to resemble wall paper) is one of my favorite parts about it. I think it makes the man a lot creepier than he already is. Also, I left a white boarder around the “poster” and I think that it makes it seem more like a poster and also makes it seem like it belongs in the room. I am very pleased with the final product.
